Consciously Creating Your Golf Game
Taking responsibility for your golf game is big step to make. Many golfers have dreams and visions of grand things occurring for them when they play or for their tournament or golf career path. To create the best path for your success takes the realization that the game you have currently created is a result of deliberate conscious decisions you have made in the past.
However the fault that many find in golf is that they believe the results they see on the golf course are a result of the defaulted actions from the past. By default, I mean the results they see are a haphazard line of events by chance that have arrived in their golf game. By taking that stance, many golfers live their golf games as a game of chance, one day your game is good and one day not so good, but only by chance. They believe they have no real control of the outcomes.
In addition to this, many golfers believe that the more they practice the better they have a chance of creating “better” chance results with their golf game. This of course is true to an extent, and as I have posted on our Field of Possibilities page, there are numerous outcome potentials available for all players. Creating a balance practice routine is a very solid fundamental every golfer should take to improve their game. The fact of identifying problem areas and creating a process to work on that takes great patience for all golfers, but it is a must to assist you in creating the game which you desire.
You Are The Deliberate Creator
The results you actually see on the course when you play are direct result of the actual thoughts you have had concerning your golf game at that point. The creative forces of our world react to your thoughts and the mind images of what you believe is possible for your golf game is then transformed in front of you when you play.
The shots that you make on the course are a direct reflection of the beliefs you have had. This is why tournament golfers play better when their confidence is high. That confidence ( or belief) is then “attracting” the better results for them when they play. Their mind is consciously creating the results they see on the golf course. So you can see that a solid practice routine can really assist you in balancing your whole game and improving your expectations in your golf game, just like a touring professional. If you feel good in one area (driving) but lack confidence in two others (putting and bunkers) then the chances are not strong for you to be successful in all areas of the game. Your disbelief in the poor areas will then attract poor results because your conscious mind does not believe the better shots are possible at that particular time.
There is no separation of your mind in your golf game. It plays a vital role in the creations you see when you play. This is why visualizing is so very important in your golf game. Creatively visualizing the shots you wish to see when you play lays the path for you to create the shot you desire. This does not mean that you should visually see yourself creating a hole in one on every par three, because your mind does not actually believe that is possible. It does however mean that you begin to identify what possible shots you feel comfortable with in creating when you play, visualize that shot and consciously try to create it when you play.
It Is A Game – Enjoy It
Golf is only a game and getting wrapped up in the results and frustrated only causes anger, fear, frustration, etc. All of those feelings are disempowering feelings that can only hurt your golf game.
Approach your golf game for what it is, a game. Have fun with it. I would challenge anyone to take a new approach to their golf game and really try to consciously create the shots they wish to play. This will take time and a new practice and playing approach, but what have you got to lose.
I would suspect many of you are defaulting to the results you see on the course, telling yourself that you are not good enough to improve to the level you wish to go. To improve will take time, but by first acknowledging that your mind and thoughts are what have lead you to where your golf game is now is a big step. Reflect on where your beliefs are when you play and next time you go play, deliberately take notice of the thoughts you have when you play.
Golf is not all about the mechanics of the swing, though I am always the first to tell any golfer that sound fundamentals and a balanced practice routine is a must. However, to really create the game you want you need to begin to see how your game is the actual results of the conscious creations and beliefs you have had when you have played to this point.
For the rest of this year, take a new approach to your golf game. Step back, identify what it is you wish to create. Begin a practice routine on the range to support what your vision is for your golf game. That vision is very important for your game, because again it is “attracting” to you the results you see in your overall game. Next break down each shot when you play to consciously create the shot you believe you can make. Take those routines to the course and begin to consciously create the shots you desire when you play. This is a huge step because I bet in the past you have been living your golf game be DEFAULT.
You are the creator of your game and every shot you see. Your thoughts and beliefs attract to you the results you see. Increase your confidence and you will increase the better results because you have consciously created it, not because you just happen to play better when your confidence is high. The truth is, when you confidence is high, you attract the better results you see. This is a law of our universe and it is very powerful. Many in golf can state that confidence will help, but they do not know why. Now YOU do!
Take action now and begin to consciously create the game you desire this year, and 2008 will be a transformational year like you have never seen!
